Greenshanks and Wraik Hill

26th April

Very strong F6 NE wind 8 degs again, like this all month. Down by the huts a wheatear was still present and on a tidal pool a greenshank was feeding, unusual to see this lately. In the field opp the Sportsman 72 common gulls and 7 Meds gulls and 8 whimbrel and 2 ravens flew over plus 1 buzzard and 1 swallow.

28th April

At W.Hill 2-3 nightingales, 2 l t tits, whitethroat and lesser whitethroat not much else so I went to SS finding 5 greenshanks in a pool plus the huts wheatear. Found a few hoverflies.

The ground was cracking up as so dry and coldest April for ten or more years.
