23rd April,
A sunny day and 12 degs.. On route to Wraik Hill I stopped at the Willow Woods entrance and took photos of a mistle thrush on the big lawn on the other side of the road.
At the site a blackcap and a nightingale was in song but not much else about so went home to look at hoverflies in the garden. I found a new one Pipiza noctiluca, and a Eristalis pertinax plus a couple of Eupeodes luniger types.
Pipiza noctiluca
Another new bee was a Hairy-footed Flower Bumblebee, a large hairy male, the females are small and all black.
